Plot summary
Savannah Delongpre has fame and fortune as a runway model in New York City, and she is worn out by it. She travels to her small Georgia hometown to see her grandmother, Belle, and to rest at Two Moon Junction, the family's riverfront property. She watches home movies of her childhood that include her recently deceased mother. On a visit to her childhood home she comes across Jake Gilbert, a good-natured drifter and artist who lives in a small house on the land and builds sculptures from scrap metal. Jake's family and the Delongpres have feuded for decades. Savannah, not ready to return north, begins an affair with him.
