Plot summary

In the summer of 1999, a group of suburban teenagers reach their last day of high school and look for a way to mark it. Julia Ford is unhappy that her boyfriend failed his last year and has to repeat it, and she is unsure whether to stay with him; she thinks about sleeping with the boyfriend of her friend Stacey Cherry so that Stacey will leave him. Brianne, teased for never having had a boyfriend, flirts openly with Mod, a drug dealer, which angers Dawn, because she and Brianne are dating in secret. Tori, the valedictorian, intends to try drugs for the first time, waiting until her babysitting job is done before she and her closest friend Sylvia do it. Holly, formerly the new girl at school, does whatever she can to stay popular.
