Plot summary

Morgan Davidson is seventeen and expecting a baby with her boyfriend, Chris Grant, and she turns to Jonah Sullivan, who is dating her sister Jenny. Seventeen years on, Morgan and Chris have a teenage daughter, Clara, while Jenny and Jonah are back together with a baby boy, Elijah. On Morgan's birthday, Clara helps a classmate, Miller Adams, shift the city limits sign and then drives him home. The two both hope to work in film. Clara hears that Miller has a girlfriend, and Jenny tells her not to meddle. Morgan and Jonah talk alone, and Morgan says their moment has passed and that Clara comes first. Clara then learns that Miller's girlfriend ended the relationship because of how he felt about Clara.
