Plot summary
Joe Dylanne is a plainclothes officer with the New York City police, a man who favors unconventional methods over procedure. A message from Katy Greer, a woman he once loved, brings him west to a remote stretch of northern California, where she needs his help: relatives of hers have vanished. He finds that most of her family has been killed, and that the local authorities offer him nothing. The only survivor is Katy's nephew Joshua, a survivalist who describes a well-organized marijuana growing operation behind the killings. To reach the men responsible, Dylanne and Joshua must cross onto ground the growers control.
