Plot summary

Professor Hershel Layton solves puzzles and studies archaeology, and his apprentice, Luke Triton, works with him. Janice Quatlane, once Layton's student and now a famous singer, asks him for help. A young girl told her that she holds a life without end and that she is Melina, Janice's friend, who died. Janice invites Layton and Luke to the Crown Petone, an opera house on the White Cliffs of Dover, for an opera about the lost kingdom of Ambrosia. A masked stranger then says the guests must play a game, and its winner will receive the secret of eternal life.
