Plot summary
Miss Hicks gives Junior Healy an F because he has not finished his science project on sound waves. When the bell rings, the traps he has rigged send her out of a window, and Murph Murphy tells on him. The principal calls his father, Ben, who takes Junior to a therapist, Sarah Gray. She tests him and decides he needs activities, and he is enrolled at a dance school run by Lila Duvane, where he meets Tiffany, a girl who has just moved to town. Murph warns him that Duke Phlim, Blade and Corky McCullum have already claimed her, and Junior's attempt to tell Tiffany how he feels goes badly. He signs up for scouting under Scoutmaster Eugene Phlim, Duke's father, and for hockey.
