Brock Pierce
Biography
Brock Pierce is an American entrepreneur who began his working life as a child actor, with early commercials before landing the role of a young Gordon Bombay in The Mighty Ducks (1992). He reprised that part in D2: The Mighty Ducks (1994) and played Luke Davenport in First Kid (1996), while also taking smaller parts in Problem Child 3: Junior in Love (1995), Three Wishes (1995), and The Ride (1997). After retiring from acting at 16, he moved into online media, joining Digital Entertainment Network and later founding Internet Gaming Entertainment and the gaming website network ZAM. In the early 2010s he shifted to cryptocurrency, taking part in the founding of Blockchain Capital and co-founding Tether. He also helped launch Block.one, which released the EOS.IO software, and was elected a director of the Bitcoin Foundation in 2014.

Pierce co-founded Block.one, the company that released EOS.IO software. Its ICO brought in over $4 billion, the biggest ever. By March 2018 his role there was chief strategy officer, and that month he left to pursue community building.

Pierce played a young Gordon Bombay in The Mighty Ducks (1992), which was his first major role. He later reprised that role in D2: The Mighty Ducks.
A change of course
Pierce founded Internet Gaming Entertainment in 2001, pioneering the MMORPG currency-selling industry; by 2005 he estimated it held about 50% of the U.S. online market.
Behind the camera
In 2014, Brock Pierce helped start the cryptocurrency Tether alongside Reeve Collins and Craig Sellars. By 2019, Tether's daily and monthly trading volume had grown to exceed Bitcoin's, the highest of any cryptocurrency on the market.
