Prison on Fire II (1991) on Netflix

Plot summary

Chung Tin Ching is serving his sentence in a Hong Kong prison where the Mainland Chinese inmates say the Hong Konger inmates bully and discriminate against them, and Dragon, a former captain in the Chinese Army, is nominated as their leader. Ching asks Officer Zau, the new chief of security, to let him out for his mother's funeral, and Zau agrees only if Ching becomes his informant and reports illegal activity in his dormitory. Ching refuses, and Zau turns the request down. Ching's young son Leung visits with the social worker Miss Wong and a letter for Ching to sign that would place the boy in an orphanage now that his grandmother, who cared for him, has died. Leung resents his father's absence from his life. Miss Wong later tells Ching that his son is sick in hospital.
