Prison on Fire (1987) on Netflix

Plot summary

Sentenced to three years for manslaughter, advertising designer Lo Ka-yiu arrives at a Hong Kong prison, where he befriends a veteran inmate, Chung Tin-ching. The conviction followed the death of a robber outside his father's grocery store. Yiu asks to transfer to the laundry, where Ching works. There he sees a member of triad boss Micky's gang take Ching's scissors, apparently to arm himself. Yiu tells Ching, who gets the scissors back, and Micky's men begin to bully him. A cell shakedown brings Yiu, Micky and another boss, Bill, before Officer Hung, whom the prisoners call Scarface, and Hung tries to recruit Yiu as an informant. Yiu refuses.
