Plot summary
Inspector Ho Sheung-Sang works as a police hostage negotiator, and his skill often goes unrecognized. Cheung Wah is a criminal who has learned he has only weeks to live. He sets an elaborate game in motion to challenge Ho, beginning with a fake robbery at a finance company, where he uses fake bullets and a mock bomb. The contest is meant to run for seventy-two hours. Cheung slips away from the police with disguises and careful planning, and Ho grows determined to learn why Cheung chose him.
