Plot summary
A merchant ship called the Dunbar reaches the Pool of London, and its sailors go ashore to spend their shore leave. Dan MacDonald, an American seaman, wants excitement and quick money. A gang of criminals asks him to carry stolen diamonds out of the country, and he takes the offer. Johnny Lambert, his Jamaican shipmate, meets Pat, a young white woman who is kind to him. The prejudices of the time weigh on their friendship.
