Plot summary
Mangin is a cynical, widowed detective in the Belleville district of Paris. He leans on informants to gather evidence against a drug ring of three Tunisian brothers, and he arrests Noria, whose boyfriend is a jailed member of the gang. Questioned about the ring, she has nothing useful to tell him, but her beauty and her tears move him, and she agrees to an outing at a disco with him and two others. A gang member recovering from knife wounds in a hospital hands Noria the key to a hideout. She goes there and finds a bag holding money and heroin, and takes it.
