Plot summary
Pilgrims cross the Atlantic aboard the Mayflower, bound for America. William Bradford is among them, and his wife Dorothy makes the crossing with him. Christopher Jones is master of the ship, and over the long voyage he grows fond of Dorothy. Also aboard, the carpenter John Alden meets Priscilla Mullins, another young Pilgrim, while Miles Standish is a rival for her.
