Plot summary
Suze and Arthur are newlyweds on the Lower East Side. When a gang called the Young Gents murders a couple in front of their building, the pair watch, and Suze tells the members which apartment is theirs. Back home, their friends Ida, Baker and Les mock Arthur for refusing to be a man, while Suze says she would like to be Stanley Kowalski. Alone, the two dance, and Suze kneels at Arthur's feet. Taking out the trash, Arthur finds a blood-stained matchbook and walks to the Blue Angel Club, where the gang's leader Teddy says he remembers him and flirts with him. Their neighbor Maureen asks Suze to watch her apartment while she is away in Europe.

- Amanda Kramer and Noel David Taylor wrote the screenplay in 2018, and Kramer talked producers into financing the film by calling it "the gay West Side Story", which she later admitted was "a lie" and "a Halloween trick".
- Maya Hawke and Charlie Plummer were cast in November 2019 alongside Andrea Riseborough, with Amanda Kramer directing, but by October 2020 Hawke and Plummer were gone and Demi Moore, Harry Melling and Karl Glusman had joined.
- Please Baby Please shot in Butte, Montana, from October 2020, and at one point the production was shut down for "a very long weekend" because of a COVID-19 outbreak on set.
