Play It Cool (2021) on Netflix

Plot summary

Reggiemolo is in his late teens, riding a bus across the country to see his mother for the first time. The girlfriend who promised to collect him breaks up with him instead, leaving him stranded in the desert. He hitchhikes and is picked up by Margot, a young woman who reveals nothing about herself. That evening, at a diner, his face appears on television as a wanted criminal. A waitress telephones 9-1-1, and Margot runs for the door, though Reggiemolo talks her into driving him out of harm's way.
