Plot summary
Pinocchio is a year into being a real boy, and Mister Geppetto throws him a birthday party. The Good Fairy arrives, tells him that love is the greatest gift he has, and brings one of his carvings to life as a glow-bug named Willikers, meant to serve as his conscience. Geppetto then sends him to the mayor with a jewel box, and on the way the raccoon Sylvester J. Scalawag and the monkey Igor persuade him to swap it for a ruby that proves worthless. Geppetto is angry, and the boy runs off, leaving Willikers behind. Looking for work at a carnival, he meets the marionette Twinkle. Puppetino, the puppet-master, knows who Pinocchio is and uses Twinkle to pull him in.

- Disney sued Filmation for copyright infringement over Pinocchio and the Emperor of the Night, which was described as a thinly-veiled sequel to Disney's 1940 Pinocchio. Filmation argued that Carlo Collodi's work was in the public domain, and the case was settled out of court on confidential terms.
