Plot summary
Rowena Price reports under the pen name David Shane, investigating a scandal involving Senator Sachs with her researcher Miles Haley. Her editor shuts the story down. Then Grace Clayton, a childhood friend, asks for help against Harrison Hill, a wealthy advertising executive who recently ended their affair, and gives her the emails that prove it. Days later Grace is found dead, and Rowena suspects Harrison. Miles helps her take a temp job at Harrison's agency, H2A, where she sets up gift bags for a collection launch. A colleague named Gina says Harrison's wealth comes from his wife, Mia, which makes him secretive about his affairs. Rowena flirts with Harrison online and in person.
