Plot summary
Andrea grew up as the only boy among the women of his household: his grandmother Matilde, a former astrophysics professor now living with dementia, her caregiver Bogdana, his mother Vittoria, who administers eleven condominiums and rules the home, and his three older sisters, Veronica, Federica and Beatrice. He supports himself with occasional jobs and is looking for permanent employment. He met Roberta while working in a bar. Six months into the relationship, during a night at his place, the family interferes: Matilde walks in on them, Vittoria sends him on errands, Beatrice criticizes Roberta's cooking, Bogdana destroys her computer with her thesis on it, Veronica has her car towed, and Federica swaps her dog for another. Roberta leaves in anger, and her dog, a female, stays behind.
