Suyambulingam left school after the fourth grade and runs a cable television service in Papanasam. He lives with his wife Rani and their daughters, sixteen-year-old Selvi and ten-year-old Meena, and apart from his family his interest is the movies he watches in his small office. During an overnight school camp in Kodaikanal, a hidden cellphone films Selvi in the shower. Varun Prabhakar, whose mother Geetha Prabhakar is an Inspector General, blackmails her into meeting him. Selvi brings Rani to the garden shed, and Varun dies there. Suyambulingam hides the body and coaches his family on what to tell the police. He then takes them to Tenkasi, while Geetha Prabhakar investigates her son's disappearance.
