Plot summary
Before the war, a Nazi expedition hatched a dragon egg and learned to breed more; the creatures reproduce without mates, and Vril women command them. In 1942, Dr. Heinrich Gudrun brings his brood to North Africa, where the dragons are meant to restore air superiority for the Afrika Korps under Erwin Rommel. An American general is ordered to assemble a squadron from the best Allied fighter pilots still available. It is led by Lieutenant John Robbins, the only man to survive the first squadron that met the dragons. The unit does not officially exist. Flying P-51 Mustangs, the pilots are to take on animals everyone had taken for myth.
