Plot summary
Robert Woodward, a contractor, drives to the nursing home where his ill wife lives to spend Thanksgiving Day with her. Dr. Catherine Howard, a pediatric cardiologist whose husband has recently died, arrives at the same place, and the two meet for the first time. With a blizzard closing in and no taxi to be had, Robert is stranded, so Catherine offers him a lift. The drive goes badly: he barks directions while she fights the storm, and the car slides off the road into a snow bank. The pair walk on through the snow and find an empty cabin where they can wait out the weather. With nothing to do but talk, the two find themselves drawn to each other despite their differences.
