Plot summary
Simon J. is a computer programmer and network engineer who lives alone in a block of apartments where the lifts have stopped running and cameras watch the corridors. Empty paper packages keep turning up inside his apartment, and no matter how he tries to seal the place, more arrive. He is behind on a programming project at work and drinks a great deal of Nature Fresh milk. Nile, a courier he knows, tells him that his social isolation is the problem. Among the people in the building are Derrick, who has built an artificially intelligent robot head named Adam, and a Neighbour in the apartment next door. Simon begins asking who keeps getting into his home.
