Plot summary

Olivia and Larry Pearce are less than a year into their marriage. Olivia kept the music store running while Larry was away at war, and now that he is home she wants the old job back. Larry says a wife's place is in the house, and he has settled on Gaye Winston, a former WAC officer he knew in the Army, for the sales manager post. Olivia, sure the job is meant for her, talks Larry into handing it over. He takes Gaye to lunch to explain, and Olivia is at another table in the same restaurant with her lunch companion Vera Thompson.
