Plot summary
A volcano erupts without warning on the floor of the Pacific Ocean. The blast wakes hundreds of volcanoes that together form the ring of fire, and the event becomes a catastrophe on a global scale. The clusters are close to erupting en masse. That threatens the horned whales that the tsunami has washed ashore, and the cap penguins that make their home on volcanic islands. The small column maintenance station's equipment is in danger, along with the food that plant fish have planted on marine farms. The plants and animals that spend the whole year in the crater also face danger.
