Plot summary
Eighteen-year-old film student Dark and his girlfriend Mel both date other people. Mel spends time with Lucifer, a girl Dark dislikes, while Dark has his eye on Montgomery, a shy classmate. The two of them drift through Los Angeles with Alyssa, Dingbat and Egg, trading news of a party that night at a house belonging to a man named Jujyfruit. Cowboy tells Dark that his boyfriend and bandmate Bart is addicted to heroin; when Cowboy offers to repair their relationship if Bart quits, Bart refuses. Egg runs into a television star. At a bus stop, Dark spots an alien and tries to capture it on video before it vanishes.

- Scenes removed from Nowhere's theatrical version for MPAA ratings purposes were put back in a 4K restoration that Strand Releasing announced in late 2023 and debuted alongside Gregg Araki's Totally F***ed Up and The Doom Generation.
- In 2015 the French fashion house Kenzo commissioned a short film from Gregg Araki for its fall/winter campaign; titled Here Now, it serves as a sequel to Nowhere, set not long after the film's events.
