Plot summary
Nine Inch Nails documents its 2006 Live: With Teeth Tour in a concert video built around two consecutive shows, in Oklahoma City and El Paso, that were filmed in high definition. Hand-held cameras also gathered footage from the last thirteen dates of the summer amphitheater tour, where the lighting design differed from the arena run. Across the performances the band plays eight songs from With Teeth, four from The Downward Spiral, three each from Broken and Pretty Hate Machine, two from The Fragile, the standalone single Burn, and the previously unreleased Non-Entity. Music videos, an image gallery, studio rehearsal footage from 2005, on-screen lyrics and surround sound mixes round out the release.

- Because a live Nine Inch Nails show is highly frenetic and difficult to compress, Microsoft modified its high-definition VC-1 video encoder and Sonic Solutions sped up development of its Sonic Scenarist authoring software specifically for this release.
- The Blu-ray disc is encoded at 1080p30, which the Blu-ray specification does not support, so it had to be flagged as 1080i60. Players such as the Sony PlayStation 3 that read only the flag can play it at 1080i60 or lower.
- Beside You in Time was the final release to carry the Nothing Records logo and the label's last album; Nothing Records was declared extinct after the release date.
- Bonus footage supplementing the main feature was shot sporadically on hand-held consumer HDV cameras during the last thirteen shows of the band's summer 2006 amphitheatre tour, which had a significantly different light show from the arena tour.
