Plot summary
Emmett and Anya are engaged. In a game of therapy they play together, each of them takes the other's part so that the two can share their feelings. Emmett's mother has recently died, and he has inherited her house. He means to sell the property, and he resented the woman, from whom he was estranged. He takes Anya to the house. Anya never met his mother. There, Anya begins behaving like her, taking on the persona of the dead woman. Nothing explains the change. For Emmett, the game of therapy turns nightmarish, with his own partner in the role of his mother.
