Plot summary
Morgan Delt is a failed working-class London artist. He was raised as a communist by his parents and lives inside a personal world of fantasy. Leonie, his upper-class wife, has given up on him and is divorcing him to marry Charles Napier, an art gallery owner who shares her social standing. Leonie still carries leftover feelings of love for Morgan, mixed with pity. Morgan will not let her go, and he carries out bizarre stunts in a campaign to win her back.
