Plot summary
Bombshell spends the start of her day on a bus, reading Kenneth Anger's Hollywood Babylon. A hippie foot fetishist seduces her and molests her feet while she imagines herself as Cinderella. Divine, distracted by a hitchhiker she pictures naked, runs into Bombshell with her car. She puts the unconscious woman in the vehicle and heads to a thrift shop. There she takes clothes for Bombshell and later removes shoes from a homeless woman who has died. At a coin laundry, Divine wipes Bombshell's face and changes her into the stolen clothes. The Virgin Mary appears and gives Divine a wheelchair to move the unconscious woman around. When Divine returns to her car, a man in sunglasses has taken it.

- While shooting a scene with a nude hitchhiker on the Johns Hopkins University campus without permission, actor Mark P. Isherwood was arrested, and John Waters, Nancy Stoll, David Lochary and Mary Vivian Pearce were later charged with indecent exposure; the charges were eventually dropped.
- Waters said the songs in Mondo Trasho came from his own record collection and that he never paid the licensing fees because he could not afford to, which he says is why the film remains out of distribution, with the music rights still too expensive to clear.
- Waters has said Mondo Trasho will never be released again because of copyright issues with the music, and that it would cost $1 million just to secure the rights to the songs.
