Plot summary
The Ryans are a family of four who do not get along. Brent disapproves of Damon, his daughter Carly's boyfriend, and Carly fights with her younger brother Joshua. Kendall fills her time with fitness classes and waits for her sister Jeannie's baby to arrive. Then static with no explanation spreads through radios and television screens, and mothers and fathers across the suburban town begin attacking their own children. Joshua is home when it reaches the house. Carly is at school, where a crowd of parents arrives to attack the students, and she gets away with her friend Riley. Kendall is at the hospital for Jeannie's delivery.
