Plot summary
Sibylle Garnier works in Paris, and the promotion she wants depends on one assignment: her employer sends her to a small village near Bayonne to buy a family hardware store and open a supermarket in its place. She thinks she has settled matters with the elderly owner, then learns he is under guardianship and that his nephew, Ramuntxo Beitialarrangoïta, has charge of him and of the shop. She now needs the nephew's signature, and quickly; her job depends on coming back with a signed contract. The villagers, for their part, are in no hurry to let a Parisian have her way with the shop.
