Plot summary
Sheila, who lives in Manhattan, finds that a tanning bed at June's nail salon carries her back in time. One night she meets Gary at a bar, a meek man who would rather watch movies than sports, and the two go out together, discovering a shared taste in drinks and trading stories of their childhoods. Before the evening is through, Sheila tells him the truth: she has ridden the machine through this same night seven times already. The first pass left her happier than she had been in a long while, so she kept resetting the day to have the date again. They part on good terms, and she tells him she will see him the next day.
