Plot summary
Across his career the Finnish ski jumper Matti Nykänen collects four Olympic golds, seven world championship titles and four World Cup tour championships, plus forty-six wins on the World Cup circuit. When his competitive career ends, the other side of his personality comes into public view: a dependence on alcohol, several marriages and marital trouble, petty crime, acts of violence and hangers-on. Matti's naivety and gullibility leave him open to being used, and heavy drinking and bad decisions wear down his skiing. The mixed-up sayings attributed to him, written in the manner of Yogi Berra, carry much of the comedy. The film is told in Finnish and mixes biography, comedy and drama.
