- Director Aleksi Mäkelä said Antti Pesonen's original screenplay was far too long: the film would have run two and a half hours, but after trimming, the version that reached cinemas ran 110 minutes.
- The film, made on a budget of 1.5 million euros, was a commercial disappointment: fewer than 13,000 people saw it in cinemas, and its production company Fisher King Production ran into financial difficulties later that same year.
- Mäkelä said standalone scenes were cut from the screenplay and a great deal of humour added, because Pesonen's original script was much more serious than the finished film.
