Plot summary

Lisa Davis is writing a dissertation on dance in the 1960s, and she and her husband Mike travel from Seattle to New York to interview Tobi Powell. Tobi is a former dancer who now teaches ballet at the Juilliard School. He agrees to talk with the couple, but Mike takes over the questioning and his interest turns to matters far more personal. What began as research for a dissertation no longer accounts for the visit, and the courtesy between host and guests begins to erode.
