Plot summary
Senguttuvan and Elango make a living on the edges of the jewel trade for a smuggler known as Ramdoss. Senguttuvan spends his mornings watching a young woman, Chanakya, at the bus stop and never manages to speak to her. A Chinese businessman comes looking for Maragatha Naanayam, an antique emerald medallion once owned by the king Irumporai. The stone is said to be cursed: everyone who touched it died in a lorry accident, and local gangs will not take the job. Senguttuvan, tired of small work, wants it. A priest gives the pair a lemon that shows them the spirits of those killed by the curse, and tells them they will need a ghost's help. They prepare a ritual to summon Elango's uncle Chidambaram.
