Plot summary
Olaf "Gunn" Gunnunderson is out and proud at college, where he rooms with his boyfriend, Nathan Stanford. Back home in the Midwest for Christmas, he changes how he dresses and acts so that his parents and neighbors keep believing he is straight, while his mother Anya and father Sven keep steering him toward Abby Mancuso, the girl across the street he dated in high school. Abby's mother Heather and Anya maintain a friendship they do not mean. Nathan's own wealthy parents have gone on a cruise, leaving him alone, so he turns up at the Gunnunderson doorstep without warning, and Gunn must keep their relationship a secret under his parents' roof.
