Plot summary
Becca Miller is a graduate student, young at heart and not yet settled into the responsibilities that adult life brings. She strikes up a friendship with Emily, a quiet child whose mother has recently died, and each play date the two of them have is chaperoned by Emily's father, Nate. Becca draws the girl out of her shell and helps her handle her grief, and the time she spends with Emily pushes her toward the duties of a grown-up. A romance grows between Nate and Becca, and the two of them must weigh it against his responsibility to his daughter and her need to finish her education.
