Plot summary
Jessica Donovan is set to marry Kent Krandel, a man whose work keeps him at the office. The two of them enroll in dance classes for the wedding, but Kent skips the lessons and Jessica keeps returning alone. The instructor, Jake Mitchell, is deaf, wears hearing aids, and has twice won the US Open in swing dancing. Jessica discovers she has a feel for the dance, and her interest in Jake grows with each session. Kent grows unpleasant about the time she spends dancing and the meals she no longer cooks at home. Jake's old partner, Corrine Kennedy, now sits on the judging panels of the open tournaments.
