Plot summary
Dana Randall is the pilot for Fullerton Airways, a small Queensland seaplane operation that carries supplies and passengers to remote communities and visiting tourists. Her father Jeff runs it, and their bills are mounting; he scolds her for skipping paying visitors to fly a resident's dog to the vet. In London, ITCM Financial, the investment firm of Duncan Mitchell, picks the family business for liquidation, and Duncan sends his son William to the tropics to review the books and report back to the board within a week, warning him not to get attached. Dana is sent to collect Will from the ferry. The mechanic Nikki wants Dana to date. Dana takes Will along on her rounds to a community cut off from everything, and Jeff asks him to go a second day.
