Plot summary
Alvin Johnson needs a camshaft for the engine his scholarship project depends on, so he takes a job cleaning pools to pay for it. He is an intelligent student who is close to graduating, and he spends his free time with his friends rebuilding a car. He has long dreamed of dating Paris Morgan, a cheerleader. After Paris wrecks her mother Judy's Escalade while arguing with her boyfriend Dru Hilton, Alvin agrees to repair it using his project money. In return, Paris gives him a $1,500 makeover and agrees to pretend to be his girlfriend for two weeks, which brings him into the popular crowd.
