Plot summary
Kevin Carson works at Foot Locker and lives with his grandmother in an Atlanta housing project, dreaming of designing his own sneaker line. His friends Benny and Stacie support the idea, while the neighborhood chases the Mondo Million Dollar Lottery and its $370 million jackpot. A run-in with Lorenzo, a paroled criminal who demands free sneakers, costs Kevin his job. On the way home he buys a ticket at a gas station, using the numbers from a fortune cookie. His ticket matches. The claims office is shut for the Fourth of July weekend, so he must wait three days, and word of the win spreads. Nikki Swayze, who had previously rejected him, suddenly takes an interest.
