Plot summary
In 1977, a man is attacked inside his Michigan farmhouse and urges the young woman with him to run. By 1984, Adrienne, a high school student, still mourns her mother and her missing sister as she gets ready for a weekend away after the Spring Ball. She and her friends Jamie, Sean, Wesley, Tobe, Marilyn, Heather and Johnnie slip out of the dance and take a school bus into the countryside. The bus runs out of fuel on a deserted road beside the old Joad farmhouse. Exploring the property, the teenagers find evidence that a family of cannibals once lived there.
