Plot summary
Natalie is a senior at the University of Texas. She spends a night with her friend Gabe, and both agree not to make it a big deal. Weeks later, on graduation night, she feels sick, and Cara brings her a pregnancy test. The result divides her life into two stories told at once. Where the test is positive, Natalie moves back in with her mother and father, who are unhappy and unimpressed by Gabe, an aspiring musician, and urge her to keep pursuing animation while she faces becoming a mother. Where the test is negative, she moves to Los Angeles with Cara and applies to assist the animator Lucy Galloway, building a bond with her colleague Jake.
