Plot summary
In 1982, Kevin is a student at Texas University. Sexual fantasies about men trouble him, and he is not sure what they mean, but he wants to prove to himself that he is heterosexual. He decides he needs to hook up with a student on campus who is openly gay. He meets César, a new student who is open about being gay, and Kevin is drawn to him.

- Derek Villanueva was cast as the openly gay student Cesar after director David Lewis met him at Frameline in 2010, where Villanueva was promoting his film Little Love. Producer Lewis Tice had suggested the meeting, and Lewis offered Villanueva the part after he read for it.
- Jacob Newton, who plays Kevin, originally wanted the supporting role of Justin, a homophobic classmate who also has repressed same-sex attractions, but when he came to audition he was asked to read for Kevin instead.
