Plot summary

Eddie Barrish is a former criminal with no job, and he cannot provide for his daughter, Sarah. Hunting for unattended cars to rob, he comes upon an unlocked Dolus, a luxury SUV, and climbs in to take what is inside. The vehicle locks on its own, and his efforts to break out fail; he cuts his arm. A call arrives on the screen he had ignored earlier, from a man named William, who says he owns the car and can watch Eddie through cameras inside it. After six break-ins before this one, William says, he rebuilt the Dolus as a trap, and he proves it by sending a shock through the seats. Eddie fires at the glass, and the bullet comes back into his leg.
