Lila & Eve (2015) on Netflix

Plot summary

Lila is a single mother in Atlanta raising her younger son Justin while she grieves Stephon, her older boy, who was shot dead in a drive-by. The police treat the killing with indifference, and Lila can barely manage. She joins a support group for mothers whose children were killed and meets Eve, whose daughter died. Eve sits apart and never speaks, and she seems drawn to payback rather than to healing. Lila picks Eve as her sponsor, and one evening, as they work on the house together, Lila comes across a handgun packed in Justin's schoolbag. Lila is horrified; Eve takes it as a prompt for the two of them to dig into Stephon's death on their own.
