Plot summary
Ariane plays the violin in an orchestra conducted by Christen, who asks her to marry him. She says yes, but the obstacle is that she is still married to Nino, an Italian schoolteacher of strong character, and the two of them have been separated for two years. Italian law does not allow a divorce for three years, so Ariane persuades Nino to come with her to Paris, where they can end the marriage in eight days flat.
