Plot summary
Alice Hughes is a Pulitzer Prize-winning author whose publisher hopes her new manuscript will follow her best-known book, You Always/You Never. Her health keeps her from flying, so her agent Karen suggests that she cross the Atlantic on the Queen Mary 2 to accept a literary award in the United Kingdom. Alice invites her nephew Tyler to help her, along with Roberta and Susan, friends from her university days she lost touch with. Roberta believes Alice used details of her life in You Always/You Never. Karen boards the ship without Alice knowing, hoping to learn about the new book.
