Plot summary
Chow Siu-lung is a naive young kung fu student who lives on a small island. He leaves his rural home for Hong Kong, meaning to study kung fu in the city. There his uncle Yun takes him in hand, and the guidance is dubious: the young man's natural snooker skills are put to use for the uncle's own financial gain, a con played on a student new to the city.
